Management of the companies large commercial and key account customers, our aftersales department consists of 2 Commercial Account Managers, 1 Key Account Manager and 2 Sales Co-ordinators. The main objectives of the department are: Retention by maintaining strong relationships and conducting contract re-negotiations; Growth through cross-selling additional services provided by Slicker and our subcontractors via the Total Waste Management (TWM) division; and Efficiencies achieved by reviewing and implementing optimum collection frequencies to reduce costs and increase margins. Our account managers maintain relationships at head office level and are supported by sales co-ordinators on a day to day basis.

The Sales Co-ordinator role provides proactive and efficient administrative support for the account management team with specific emphasis on proposal and contract preparation, management information, data analysis and day to day correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Processing collection requests and general enquiries from managed commercial and key account customers
  • Manage emails received within the National Accounts inbox
  • Monitor company service delivery to ensure this is consistent with contractual obligations
  • Provide second line support for any issues which require escalation from customer services
  • Assist in meeting preparation for account managers to include management information, excel reports and feedback on day to day activities at site level
  • Appointment booking and diary management for field-based AM’s
  • Managing customer information and highlighting exceptions within account profitability
  • Highlight additional sales opportunities for AM’s through customer compliance telephone audits
  • Proactively seek opportunities for account growth through gap analysis with support from AM’s
  • Execute regular promotional activity and call campaigns as set by the AM’s and National After Sales Manager
  • Compile monthly management information including Platts data and rebate reports to an agreed format
  • Alert relevant staff of any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence and any related issues whether actual or potential, concerning business activities that could or do have a significant risk implication for the company
  • Attend occasional customer meetings on or off-site with AM’s
  • Build, develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with site staff through regular communication
  • Work closely with other departments and divisions to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution

Skills required

  • Minimum 4 GCSEs at C and above
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of Sales and Customer Service in a telephone-based environment

Whilst demonstrating growth from proactively cross-selling additional products and services.

Note – This will be a predominantly office based role which may require occasional travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and operate to a robust business plan in alignment with the Company’s aims
  • Using business plan to prioritise and actively re-negotiate lapsed contracts and set up new contracts where no agreement is in place
  • Implement strategies with support from the After Sales Manager for new services and products as well as analysing business needs and seeking new opportunities for growth

The role of Driver Trainer Instructor will be responsible for ensuring that they are the point of contact for the delivery of Driver training. The training delivered will include a mix of initial training and refresher training. The training will be delivered to a mix of different driver types and a mix of different vehicles and trailers including vehicle ancillaries across different divisions within Slicker Recycling.

The key objectives for this role will be to:

  • Improve VOR time through better driver understanding and training with equipment.
  • Improve compliance and standards of working through monitoring driver behaviours.
  • Support a reduction in LTI and RIDDORS across all divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational management with advice and guidance relating to training.
  • Continually monitor HSE legislation to ensure full compliance relating to safety and statutory training.
  • To assist when required, with the investigation of reported accidents and be pro-active in the reduction and prevention of accidents.
  • To identify areas of non-conformance and work collaboratively with Logistics management to produce action plans to rectify issues within required timescales
  • To ensure that training is updated in-line with statutory and company requirements.
  • The updating the Skills training Matrix.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports and statistics regarding training standards including status against targets set.
  • To provide agreed ‘non-core’ training to specific Slicker Recycling Divisions and potentially specific customer contracts.
  • In conjunction with Logistics and Transport Management & SHE Managers, be the subject matter expert in the development of transport related risk assessments and systems of work.
  • To champion the effective management of transport related safe systems of work in line with company policy and statutory duties to develop a culture where training has a raised profile.
  • To ensure that training documentation is passed onto the correct responsible manager(s) for the division that the delegates have received training for.
  • Liaise with the Transport Manager or Deputy to ensure that safety related training is up to date and when required assist in the completion of induction training for new starters/operations.
  • To assist in the development of specific training packages as required.
  • Maintaining a professional image while representing the department while undertaking activities on behalf of the business unit.
  • To undertake as and when required pre and post course administrative activities.
  • To assist in the development and maintenance of effective records of training.

We operate a national service with the largest waste oil collection fleet in the UK. The waste oil we collect is treated using our own proprietary technology processes at the Slicker refinery in Worcestershire. Through the refining process we produce two grades of fuel oil for industry, processed fuel oil (PFO) and Eco Lite. PFO if the latest of our Processed Fuel Oils and is the result of over seven years and £6 million of research and development. PFO is an environmentally friendly and cost effective alternative to virgin fossil fuels. Eco Lite also provides an economical alternative to virgin fuel oils, primarily for the quarrying sector.

Responsibilities

  • Processing, loading & unloading the garage waste arriving at the site
  • Basic testing of the waste
  • Washing onsite drums & containers for reuse (wheelie bins, drums, waste containers)
  • Working within the PPC Permit with advice from line manager
  • General housekeeping and maintaining yard standards
  • Working within the current H&S and compliance procedures as set out
  • Adhering to all other Company procedures as set out especially for the role employed for
  • Completing records of inspections for plant machines used daily
