They are equipped with the most up to date equipment available for the testing and sampling of PFO, our Processed Fuel Oil. Both laboratories have been ISO/IEC 17025 accredited by UKAS (testing laboratory number 4525 & 4716) since 2011, which demonstrates that all testing is carried out to the highest possible standards.
Both laboratories have benefitted from a full refurbishment, highlighting our commitment to quality and accuracy of all assessments undertaken. All methods are regularly reviewed to ensure we only use the most up to date test methods.
Slicker Recycling is the leading producer of processed fuel oil (PFO) in the UK, and have achieved accreditation for the suite of tests listed in the quality protocol schedule by UKAS.
As part of the process of establishing PFO as an approved fuel oil, the Environment Agency developed a specification and a suite of approved test methods to ensure that Slicker are able to clearly demonstrate that the hazardous waste is converted into a recycled fuel.
Every batch of PFO sold to end users in the UK is tested and confirmed as being compliant with the Quality Protocol specification. PFO failing to meet this specification cannot legally be burned in the UK.
The Quality Protocol also demands that producers of PFO should operate a UKAS accredited laboratory of their own, or use an independent UKAS accredited one.
Slicker Recycling now has the distinct advantage of being able to use its own laboratories to rapidly and efficiently test every batch of its fuel.
